Those who do not take two vaccines do not have access to government and private establishments – Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
Pune District Covid Management Meeting.
Schools from 1st to 8th closed till January 30.
Pune: Those who do not take two doses of Covid vaccine should not be allowed in all government, semi-government and private establishments in the district and schools from 1st to 8th should be closed till January 30, 2022, said Deputy Chief Minister and District Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar.
He was speaking at the Pune District Covid Management Meeting held at Vidhan Bhavan.
Mr Pawar said that more precautions need to be taken against the background of the Omicron virus. The condition of covid infection is getting worse. Omicron patients have been found in 105 countries, 23 states in India and 11 places in the state. In Pune city, the one-day positivity rate has come down to 18%. In this context, classes I to VIII will be closed till January 30, but online education will continue. As students in the age group of 15 to 18 years are being vaccinated, ninth and tenth classes should be continued, he suggested.
No two vaccines, no entry.
Increasing vaccination is essential to prevent the spread of the new type of covid virus. Citizens have been repeatedly appealed by the administration for vaccination. However, since most of the citizens have not taken the second dose of the vaccine, all government, semi-government and private establishments in the district should be bound by the rule of ‘no vaccine but no admission’. Operators of restaurants, malls, shops, cinemas, theatres as well as other establishments should not admit anyone except two doses of vaccine and co-operate with the administration, appealed Mr Pawar.
If there is no mask, should be fined Rs.500.
It is necessary to use a mask to prevent covid. Therefore, those who do not use masks should be fined Rs.500. Also, as the virus is spreading due to spitting in public places, those who spit should be fined Rs.1000 and this instruction should be strictly followed, said Deputy Chief Minister Shri Pawar. He also appealed to the people to use three-ply or N95 type masks to control covid, and to avoid using other types of masks as experts say they are not safe.
‘Decision on Omicron treatment method soon-Health Minister Rajesh Tope’
The Central Government has been requested to provide guidelines on the segregation period and treatment modalities of the infected person in case of Omicron infection and a decision will be taken soon. Decisions will also be taken in consultation with the Central Government to provide the necessary manpower in case of an outbreak of infection. In case of covid infection, necessary medicines for treatment will be made available immediately. Eligible citizens should take the second dose of vaccine immediately, he appealed.
At this time Mr Rao informed about the situation of Covid in the district through a presentation. Pune district has crossed the milestone of 1.5 crore vaccinations. Vaccination of 104 per cent of the first dose and 74 per cent of the second dose has been completed. So far, 113 Omicron patients have been identified in the district, he said.
