On behalf of the Food and Drug Administration, on July 29, 2021, Rajaram Madhukar Khade’s house group no. 291 Khade Vasti, Po. A raid was carried out at Lakdi, Tal. Indrapur, Dist. Pune on the basis of confidential information of the Vigilance Department. In that connection, 118 litres of adulterated cow’s milk worth Rs 2714 was seized and destroyed. Wheat powder (Govardhan) and liquid paraffin were seized along with 276 kg worth Rs 31,988.

Analysis report of cow’s milk was found to contain adulteration of mineral oil (non-food grade paraffin) and skimmed milk powder; In this case, Food Safety Officer Sulindra Kshirsagar filed a case against Rajaram Madhukar Khade and a supplier of adulterated substances at Walchandnagar Police Station on September 21, 2021, for violating the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006 and Section 272, 273 of the IPC. An FIR has been lodged under sections 328 and 34 and further investigation is being carried out by the Sub-Inspector of Walchandnagar Police Station Nitin Lakde.

The administration has appealed to all food traders to sell pure milk in strict compliance with the law. The administration will continue to take strict action against those who adulterate milk.
