A high-level committee was formed to implement the ‘Sharad Shatam’ health cover insurance scheme for senior citizens – Information of Social Justice Minister Dhananjay Munde.
Procedures for surveying, health screening and circulation of senior citizens will be finalized.
To implement the ambitious plan of Social Justice Minister Dhananjay Munde to conduct health check-up of senior citizens above 65 years of age in the state at least once a year and to implement ‘Sharad Shatam’ health cover insurance scheme for them. As per Munde’s instructions, a high-level committee has been constituted by the social justice department of the state government.
Sudhakar Shinde, Chief Executive Officer, State Health Guarantee Society, has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Committee. Dr Satish Pawar, Deputy Director, DMER Dr Ajay Chandanwale, JJ Hospital. Dr Vinayak Savardekar, Commissioner of Social Welfare Prashant Naranware, Deputy Secretary, Establishment, Rural Development Department and Deputy Secretary, Establishment, Public Health Department will be the members of this committee.
To make recommendations regarding various medical tests required for senior citizens, to recommend the procedure for surveying senior citizens through Asha Workers and Anganwadi Sevikas under this scheme The committee has been entrusted with the important responsibility of making recommendations on the overall functioning of the Sharad Shatam Yojana, including recommendations on the modalities of convergence in other schemes. The Committee has been directed to submit a report in due course.
