A new series for four-wheelers is soon to be launched at the Regional Transport Office, Pune and an application should be made to retain the attractive registration number in the starting series for four-wheelers (private) vehicles, the Regional Transport Officer has appealed.
On the day of the launch of the new series of vehicles, the Regional Transport Office is crowded with aspirants, which puts a strain on the office system and often the citizens. In order to reduce the inconvenience to the citizens and make it easy for them to get the attractive registration number they want, the owners of four-wheelers who want to pay the attractive and preferred number by paying the prescribed fee on 9th August 2021 during office hours from 10.30 am to 3.30 pm The application should be submitted in the new registration department of the office along with DD, proof of address, identity card, attested copy of PAN card. The DD should be in the name of R.T.O., Pune of Nationalized / Scheduled Bank, Pune. In addition, it will be mandatory for the applicant to attach an attested copy of the PAN card. (DD should not be more than one month old) The application should be accompanied by an attested copy of the proof of address prescribed in Rule 4 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules 1989 and Rule 5A of the Maharashtra Motor Vehicle Rules 1989. (E.g. Light Bill, Telephone Bill etc.) Also, the applicant has to submit an attested copy of his photo identity card (e.g. Aadhar Card / Election Commission Identity Card / Passport / PAN Card etc.) along with the application.
If more than one application is received for the same number, their list will be posted on the office notice board on 10th August 2021 after 10.30 am. Applicants in this list should submit a single DD of the highest amount for auction to the office in a sealed envelope by 3 pm on August 10, 2021. The DD should be at least Rs. 301 / – plus DD in the name of ‘R.T.O., Pune’ of Nationalized / Scheduled Bank in Pune. If the DD is in the name of ‘Pune R.T.O ..’, it will be deemed excluded. (DDs will not be accepted after 3 pm) On the same day at 4 pm in the presence of the Deputy Regional Transport Officer and six Regional Transport Officers at Co-operative Hall, Regional Transport Office, Pune, open the envelopes in front of eligible persons (concerned applicants). The submitted preference number will be distributed to those who submit.
Once reserved registration number; Cannot be changed. If the vehicle is not submitted for registration within 30 days from the date of registration, the reserved registration number will be automatically cancelled and the fee will be credited to the government. Fees provided for reserving any specific registration number cannot be refunded or adjusted under any circumstances.
An application in the prescribed format for an attractive and preferred number as well as a letter of authorization of the representative is available in the office during office hours. The Pune Regional Transport Officer has also informed in a press release that all the applicants coming to the office should strictly abide by all the rules of Covid-19.
