Amendments to the Companies Consolidation, Stamp Duty Act on Separation Documents.
Approval was also given in the Cabinet meeting today to amend the Maharashtra Stamp Act to levy stamp duty on documents related to company amalgamation and segregation.
The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
The Maharashtra Stamp Act will be amended so that stamp duty can be levied on documents and orders issued in connection with company consolidation and separation. This will increase the revenue of the government by recovering the stamp duty payable on such documents.
To this end, approval was given to amend the relevant sections and paragraphs of the Maharashtra Stamp Act.
