Appointment of Dr Ujwala Chakradev as Vice-Chancellor of Nathibai Damodar Thackeray Women’s University.
Dr Ujwala Shirish Chakradev, Principal, Manoramabai Mundle College of Architecture, Nagpur has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Mrs Nathibai Damodar Thackeray (SNDT) Women’s University.
Governor and Chancellor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Saturday (September 11) announced the appointment of Dr Ujwala Chakradev for a five-year term.
Dr Ujwala Chakradev (born 27.08.1962) holds a degree in Architecture from VRCE, Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University. Tech. She also holds a PhD in Architecture Education. Received.
Dr Ujwala Chakradev is a Professor, Principal and PhD at Manoramabai Mundle College of Architecture. She has worked as a supervisor with over 36 years of experience in teaching, research and administration.
Vice-Chancellor of SNDT Women’s University Dr Shashikala Vanjari’s tenure ended on July 2, 2021, leaving the post vacant. Mumbai University Vice-Chancellor Dr Suhas Pednekar was given an additional charge for his post.
For the appointment of the Vice-Chancellor, the Governor had constituted a Vice-Chancellor Selection Committee under the chairmanship of Justice Yatindra Singh, a retired Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court.
The other members of the committee were Dr Anupam Shukla, Director General, IIIT, Pune and Omprakash Gupta, Principal Secretary, State.
After conducting direct interviews of the candidates recommended by the committee, the Governor appointed Dr Ujwala Chakradev as the Vice-Chancellor.
