Appointment of various dignitaries in the field of sports as members of the Governing Council of the International Sports University.
Section 23 of the International Sports University, Maharashtra Act, 2020 provides for the regulatory council and in accordance with subsection (4) of the rules, the government has approved the appointment of various dignitaries in the field of sports as members of the regulatory council of the International Sports University, Maharashtra. The following are the names of the members appointed for the Governing Council of the International Sports University, Maharashtra. Mr Henry Menezes, Shri. Rahul Bose, Dr. Vidya Yerawadekar, Prof. Ratnakar Shetty, Dr. Anjali Thackeray, Shri. Nilesh Kulkarni, Smt. Anjali Bhagwat, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of School Education and Sports, Commissioner, Directorate of Sports and Youth Services have been appointed.
The objective is to create an international standard sports university to maximize the sports performance of the state, to provide maximum opportunities for sports training at the international level in the field of sports as well as to create a maximum number of job opportunities in the field of sports.
