Artists in the field of experimental art will raise awareness about Covid; the Ruling of the Department of Cultural Affairs.
Mumbai: Various measures have been taken by the state government for the last one and a half years to prevent covid infection in the state. Awareness of the need for vaccination to prevent covid infection, as well as the need for vaccination, will be raised by a group of artists working in the field of experimental arts. The ruling in this regard has been issued by the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs on 8 October 2021.
Up to Rs, 3 crores has been sanctioned in each district to create awareness among the artists in the field of experimental art. Awareness programs will be conducted by artists performing various folk art forms.
While conducting awareness programs about Covid, wedding ceremonies in the presence of a minimum number of people during the Covid period, religious matters in the presence of a minimum number of people, festivals, customs, traditions, events, observance of rules of state government regarding the use of Covid The artists want to create awareness through their art on the issues of care of senior citizens and children, government regulations regarding vaccination, vaccination etc.
Committees under the chairmanship of the District Collector will be constituted with the help of the Regional Office under the Directorate General of Information and Public Relations to select artists from each district of the state for this awareness program. Awareness programs about Covid will be monitored through a selection committee chaired by the concerned District Collector. This committee will oversee and control the program. Artists conducting awareness programs will be given work orders by the concerned Collector or the officer authorized by them. 8 lakh 30 thousand per Collector will be distributed through the Directorate of Cultural Affairs. In rural areas, after the presentation of the program in the form of a group or individual at the Gram Panchayat level, the village talathi / gram Sevak will be required to give the certificate of completion of the program to the performers. In urban areas, after the presentation of the program in groups or individually, the commissioner in the concerned municipal areas or the officer authorized by him / the chief officer in the municipal area or the officer authorized by him will have to give the certificate of completion of the program to the artist.
A maximum honorarium of Rs.500 / – per day will be paid to a single artiste like Vasudev, Bahurupi etc. for Covid Infection Prevention and Vaccination Awareness Program. A solo artist is expected to make at least 3 presentations in a day. A maximum of 10 days can be given to a single artist. This means that a single artist can get a maximum honorarium of Rs 5,000. A group of two or three artists will be required to make at least two presentations per day. Each artist in the group will be paid an honorarium of Rs. 500 per event. A maximum of 10 events can be presented to a group.
The maximum number of artists participating in awareness programs in each district will be 166. It will be necessary to abide by the terms and conditions laid down by the State Government from time to time while presenting awareness programs. It is necessary to write a guarantee that the artist is participating at his own risk while promoting and disseminating awareness. It will also be the responsibility of the performers to ensure that no one is criticized.
