“Bal Gandharva Award for the year 2020 has been announced for Smt. Nirmalatai Gogte, a senior artist in the field of drama and music.”
The Bal Gandharva Award is given every year by the Pune Municipal Corporation. However, due to the Corona epidemic in 2020, the Balgandharva award could not be distributed. Bal Gandharva’s birthday is celebrated on 26th June. On the occasion of his birthday, the Mayor announced the Bal Gandharva Awards for the year 2020 and 2021 today.
A meeting of Hon’ble office bearers and Hon’ble party leaders, as well as Hon’ble Selection Committee, was held on Wednesday, 23rd June 2021 at the Mayor’s Office. The meeting was attended by Hon’ble Murlidhar Mohol, Mayor, Hon’ble Mrs Sunita Wadekar, Deputy Mayor, Hon’ble Hemant Rasne, Chairperson, Standing Committee, Hon’ble Deepali Dhumal, Leader of Opposition, Hon. Ulhas alias Aba Bagul, Party Leader, Congress, Hon. Prithviraj Shashikant Carpenter, Party Leader, Shiv Sena, Hon. Sainath Babar, Party Leader, MNS, Hon. Hundred Farzana Ayub Sheikh, Party Leader, RPI, Hon. Along with Madhuri Sahastrabuddhe, Corporator, Hon’ble Ulhasdada Pawar, Former MLA, Hon’ble Mrs Anuradha Rajhans, Hon. Shri. Dr Satish Desai, Former Deputy Mayor, Hon. Sunil Mahajan, Hon. Mrs. Shubhangi Damle, Hon. Shri. Ustad Faiyaz Hussain Khan and other members of the selection committee were present. 
The main Bal Gandharva award for the year 2020 has been announced to Smt. Nirmalatai Gogte, a veteran actress in the field of drama and music. Along with the main award, ‘Shri. Kiran Yajnopavit’ for writing and directing in the field of film and drama, ‘Shri. Praveen Barve ‘, as a backstage artist for theatre management. Sandeep Deshmukh ‘, Senior Artist for his contribution to the musical theatre’ Shri. Mrs Anuradha Rajhans has been selected for other awards to preserve the memory of Ravindra Kulkarni and Bal Gandharva, to perform in various Natya Sammelans and to commemorate them to the new generation.
Singer Dr Reva Natu has been awarded the Balgandharva Main Award for the year 2021 for her significant contribution in the field of classical music singing. Along with the main award, the violin teacher and artist ‘Smt. Rama Chobhe’, for the management in the field of drama, ‘Shri. Sameer Hampi ‘, multi-faceted playwright’ Shri. Prasad Vanarse, Shri. Ganesh Malwadkar as Back Stage Artist, Writer, Director, Light Planner and Shri. Pravin Vaidya for Box Theater Production has been selected for other awards.
July 15 is Balgandharva’s death anniversary. In that context, we intend to review the Corona situation in the future and hold the Balgandharva Award Ceremony on Thursday, July 15, 2021. The awards are in the form of honours, mementoes, shawls, bouquets and wreaths.

पुणे महानगरपालिकेतर्फे प्रतिवर्षी बालगंधर्व पुरस्कार देण्यात येतो. परंतु सन २०२० मधील कोरोना महामारीच्या संकटामुळे बालगंधर्व पुरस्काराचे वितरण होवू शकले नाही. २६जून रोजी बालगंधर्वांची जयंती साजरी करण्यात येते. त्यांच्या जयंतीचे औचित्य साधून सन २०२०व सन २०२१च्या बालगंधर्व पुरस्कारांची घोषणा आज मा.महापौर यांनी केली.
सदर पुरस्कारासाठी मा.पदाधिकारी व मा.पक्षनेते तसेच मा.निवड समितीची बैठक आज बुधवार,दि.२३ जून २०२१ रोजी महापौर कार्यालय येथे पार पडली. सदर बैठकीस मा.मुरलीधर मोहोळ, महापौर यांचे समवेत,मा.सौ.सुनिता वाडेकर,उपमहापौर, मा.हेमंत रासने, अध्यक्ष,स्थायी समिती,मा.सौ.दिपाली धुमाळ, विरोधी पक्षनेत्या, मा. उल्हास उर्फ आबा बागुल, पक्षनेते, काँग्रेस, मा. पृथ्वीराज शशिकांत सुतार, पक्षनेते, शिवसेना, मा. साईनाथ बाबर, पक्षनेते, मनसे, मा. सौ. फरजाना अय्युब शेख, पक्षनेते, आर.पी.आय., मा.सौ. माधुरी सहस्त्रबुद्‌धे, नगरसेविका यांच्या समवेत मा.उल्हासदादा पवार, माजी आमदार, मा.सौ.अनुराधा राजहंस, मा. श्री.डॉ.सतिश देसाई, माजी उपमहापौर, मा.सुनिल महाजन, मा. सौ.शुभांगी दामले, मा. श्री.उस्ताद फैय्याज हुसैन खान आदी निवड समिती सदस्य उपस्थित होते.
सन २०२० चा बालगंधर्व मुख्य पुरस्कार नाटय आणि संगीत क्षेत्रातील ज्येष्ठ कलावंतअभिनेत्री श्रीमती निर्मलाताई गोगटे यांना जाहीर झाला आहे. तर मुख्य पुरस्काराबरोबरच चित्रपट व नाटय क्षेत्रातील लेखन व दिग्दर्शनासाठी ‘श्री.किरण यज्ञोपवित’ नाटय व्यवस्थापनासाठी ‘श्री. प्रवीण बर्वे’, रंगमंच व्यवस्थापनासाठी बॅक स्टेज आर्टिस्ट म्हणून ‘श्री. संदीप देशमुख’, संगीत रंगभूमीवरील योगदानासाठी ज्येष्ठ कलाकार ‘श्री. रविंद्र कुलकर्णी’आणि बालगंधर्वांचा ठेवा जतन करुन, विविध नाटयसंम्मेलनात प्रदर्शन भरवून, त्यांची आठवण नवीन पिढा करुन देण्यासाठी ‘सौ.अनुराधा राजहंस’ यांची इतर पुरस्कारासाठी निवड करण्यात आलेली आहे.
सन २०२१ चा बालगंधर्व मुख्य पुरस्कार शास्त्रीय संगीत गायन क्षेत्रात भरीव योगदान देणार्यास गायिका डॉ.रेवा नातू यांना जाहीर झालेला आहे. मुख्य पुरस्काराबरोबरच व्हायोलिन क्षेत्रातील शिक्षिका व कलाकार ‘श्रीमती रमा चोभे’, नाटय क्षेत्रातील व्यवस्थापनासाठी ‘श्री. समीर हंपी’, बहुआयामी नाटयकर्मी ‘श्री. प्रसाद वनारसे’, बॅक स्टेज आर्टिस्ट म्हणून ‘श्री.गणेश माळवदकर’, लेखन, दिग्दर्शन, प्रकाश योजनाकार तसेच बॉक्स थिएटरच्या निर्मितीसाठी ‘श्री.प्रविण वैद्य’ यांची इतर पुरस्कारासाठी निवड करण्यात आलेली आहे.
१५ जुलै रोजी बालगंधर्व यांची पुण्यतिथी असते. त्या धर्तीवर पुढील काळात कोरोना परिस्थितीचा आढावा घेवू न बालगंधर्व पुरस्काराचा वितरण सोहळा गुरुवार, दि. १५ जुलै २०२१ रोजी आयोजित करण्याचा आमचा मानस आहे. सदर पुरस्काराचे स्वरुप मानपत्र, स्मृतिचिन्ह, शाल, पुष्पगुच्छ व पुष्पहार असे आहे.
