Collective efforts should be made to make Pune pollution-free – Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
All should work together to make Pune known as a beautiful and pollution-free city. Necessary cooperation will be provided for the construction of the ring road in Pune, stated Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari.
The groundbreaking ceremony of the newly constructed flyover from Rajaram Bridge to Funtime Theater on Sinhagad Road in Pune was held at the hands of Union Minister Shri Gadkari and in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Council Dr Nilam Gorhe.
Mr Gadkari said that efforts should be made to reduce water, air and noise pollution in Pune using modern technology. This requires the use of vehicles running on ethanol instead of petrol. This will also benefit sugarcane growers. New cities need to be developed outside the city to provide better amenities to the citizens.
The newly constructed flyover will help solve the traffic problem. Using modern technology like double-decker on this bridge will help solve the transportation problem at the same cost. The state, including Pune and Mumbai, will be given as much assistance as the central government can provide. It is a good thing that the work of Pune Metro is progressing at a fast pace. Full cooperation will be provided for the completion of river projects, ropeways and other development projects in Pune.
If Metro is started on Pune-Kolhapur, Pune-Solapur, Pune-Nagar broad gauge railway line, the traffic will be faster with the employment of unemployed youth. The ring road will also be developed to reduce traffic congestion in Pune. Necessary funds and assistance will be provided by the Center for all the ongoing development projects in the state. Efforts will be made to run Metro on maximum routes in Maharashtra. This will not only benefit the citizens but also the environment.
Let’s try to make the city with good transport facilities – Ajit Pawar
Deputy Chief Minister Shri. Pawar said that efforts are being made to complete various development works in Pune city expeditiously. It should also be noted that they will not have problems. These works will be done in coordination with the Center, State and Municipal Corporation. The state will also extend full cooperation for the early completion of development projects undertaken by the Central Government.
Care should be taken to ensure that the development work is not hampered by trusting the people’s representatives. The state government is constantly doing all that for the development of the city. Efforts are being made to provide roads and other facilities as the population and size of cities are increasing. Bhumi Pujan of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi Marg and Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi Marg will also be held soon.
“We will try to make the city a city with good transportation facilities by providing good facilities to the citizens without any politics about development work,” he said.
On this occasion, Mayor Murlidhar Mohol informed about the ongoing development works in Pune city.
