Pune: If private carriers charge more than half of the fare of Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation, it will be possible to lodge a complaint with proof.
There is no denying the possibility of exorbitant fares being charged by passengers travelling in private passenger buses during the festive season. Considering the fare of Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation in that category; Private carriers have been instructed to charge a fare in such a manner that the private contract license will not exceed 50 per cent of the fare per km for the entire bus for that category of vehicle.
If private carriers charge more than half of the fare of Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation, a complaint with proof should be lodged at dycommr.enf2@gmail.com and mh14@mahatranscom.in. Pimpri-Chinchwad Deputy Regional Transport Officer Atul Aade said that the Air Vehicle Squad of the Sub-Regional Transport Office has been directed to take action against the private carrier for charging exorbitant fares as per the Motor Vehicle Act.
