Compulsory observance of Covid rules – Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar
Permission for cultural programs in Pune district from 1st December; Permission for 100% audience in cinemas and theatres.
Pune: As the situation of Covid infection in the district is under control, cultural programs should be allowed from December 1 by following the Covid guidelines and 100 per cent spectator capacity should be allowed in cinemas and theatres, said Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
He was speaking at a Covid review meeting held at the Divisional Commissioner’s Office.
Mr Pawar said that schools are being started from 1st December as the situation in Covid is under control in the state. Similarly, cultural events will also be allowed. However, as the threat of covid has not yet been completely averted, citizens will be required to wear masks and adhere to covid rules. Special care should be taken against the backdrop of new covid variants spreading in other countries of the world.
As only two doses of the Covid vaccine are allowed for air travel, domestic travellers should not be checked at Pune Airport. The decision will be taken as per the instructions of the Central Government regarding the passengers coming from the country where the new variant has been found. A decision on Jumbo Covid Hospital will be taken by the end of December, given the recent festivities and the threat of new variants, he said.
Emphasis should be placed on awareness of non-vaccinated citizens. Mr Pawar also said that all the government hospital staff in the district should be given the necessary training to prevent fire and to take immediate action in case of an emergency.
Divisional Commissioner Shri. Rao informed about the situation in Covid in the district through a presentation. The district has crossed the 1 crore 30 lakh stage of covid vaccination and Pune district ranks second in the state in vaccination. Under the ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ campaign, 100 per cent first dose vaccination has been completed in 431 villages of the district. The increase in vaccinations has led to a decrease in the number of patients and deaths. The first dose of vaccine was given to 97 per cent of citizens and the second dose to 62 per cent of citizens. The positivity rate of the district has come down to 1.6, it was informed at this time.
