Create temporary mobile hospitals to enhance health facilities – Central Government.
Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has appealed to all concerned to make efforts to minimize the number of deaths due to Covid-I9.
New Delhi: Against the backdrop of an increasing number of Covid 19 patients, the Union government has suggested that states and Union Territories should set up temporary mobile hospitals to increase the availability of health infrastructure.
Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has given such instructions in a letter to the Chief Secretaries and Health Secretaries of the states. He said that these hospitals could be set up in coordination with DRDO, CSIR as well as the private sector, NGOs and others.
The Center has also suggested that hotel rooms or other living spaces attached to public and private hospitals dedicated to covid treatment should be used to accommodate patients. For this, control rooms at the district level will be operational. He also hoped that the public would be properly informed about the ambulances and beds available at the hospital. He said that the central government will provide all necessary support for this.
The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, had earlier organized a series of webinars on various aspects of clinical management of Covid-l9 cases with state-of-the-art centres under the Center of Excellence (CoE) initiative.
This series of webinars has been well received by doctors, especially incentive care specialists and critical care specialists. States and Union Territories of Excellence were urged to hold a similar series of webinars with their district-level counterparts, which was undertaken by several states.
Mr Bhushan said in his letter that in addition to those efforts, there would be another series of webinars of Center of Excellence for all state-level best centres and district level public and private covid health facilities in collaboration with AIIMS in Delhi.
Nine webinars on different topics are scheduled from January 5 to 19 this month to tackle Covid-19.
