Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari i.e. Film City is currently shooting a large number of Marathi and Hindi serials and movies on a large scale. That is why Filmcity will soon be redeveloped by studying all the state-of-the-art facilities required for filming, said Cultural Affairs Minister Amit Deshmukh.
A meeting on Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari (Film City) was held today under the chairmanship of Cultural Affairs Minister Amit Deshmukh. The meeting was attended by Manisha Verma, Managing Director, Chitranagari, Ajay Saxena, Advisor, Vilas Thorat, Deputy Secretary, Cultural Affairs.
Mr Deshmukh said that Mumbai is known as the cultural capital as well as the economic capital of the country. Today, the entertainment industry has expanded dramatically, with Filmcity shooting every day for a variety of mediums. Given the need for these mediums, redevelopment needs to be prioritized. Right now we are all fighting Kovid. Filmcity needs to be redeveloped as a priority while expanding the cultural sector in the coming years. Discussions were held on what the new redevelopment will look like, what the phases will be, what will be considered while redeveloping, how many years the redevelopment phase will be.
