Maharashtra’s daughter Devanshi Joshi announces the ‘Role Model’ National Award in the category of Intellectual Disability.
New Delhi: Devanshi Joshi, a native of Maharashtra and currently residing in Delhi, has been awarded the ‘Role Model’ National Award in the category of Intellectual Disability. The awards will be presented by President Ramnath Kovind on December 3, 2021.
The National Disability Empowerment Award is given annually by the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. This year, the award ceremony will be held on December 3, 2021, at Vigyan Bhavan.
Devanshi is a self-reliant girl with Down syndrome. Devanshi was born in Nagpur. She was educated in a normal school in Nagpur till the ninth standard. She is trying to dispel misconceptions in society about her intellectual disability. She has been working as a full-time employee for eight years.
She is currently working as a full-time employee in the fashion department at Big Bazaar in Vasant Kunj, Delhi. She is the first to work as a full-time employee in the Neuro-Diversity category. Works with full dedication and enthusiasm to the gods without taking advantage of any special concessions during work. Devanshi Joshi has completed the 10th and 12th standards from National Open School. She has also undergone various skills training. Her multifaceted personality has been praised by national and international organizations. Earlier in 2016, she was also awarded the National Award for ‘Outstanding Employee’.
Devanshi regularly talks about her experience in online and offline programs as a speaker. The United Nations was called to Geneva in 2020, but Corona could not go to Devanshi because of Mahasathi. This year, she shared her thoughts online at the United Nations.
Devanshi has a passion for photography. She is also active on social media. She also loves to travel abroad. She has the great support of her father Anil Joshi and mother Rashmi Joshi in all these endeavours.
