District level Section 5 monitoring under National Tobacco Control Program
The meeting of the committee was held at the office of the Commissioner of Police, Pune City under the chairmanship of Laxman Borate, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch-2.
The meeting was attended by Dr Suhasini Ghanekar of District Hospital, Senior Inspector of Police Anti-Drug Squad-1 Crime Branch Vinayak Gaikwad, Senior Inspector of Police Anti-Drug Squad-2 Crime Branch Prakash Khandekar, Food Safety Officer Anil Gwate etc.
The meeting reviewed the work of the last two years and planned the program for the next year. It was informed that the State Tobacco Control Room has planned to train NGOs and police on the prevention of smoking/spitting of tobacco, betel nut, spices, gutkha and other tobacco products and smoking (including e-cigarettes).
