Doctors made it to fight against Covid.

On the occasion of National Doctor’s Day, the Chief Minister wished the doctors of the state; Maharashtra is always grateful for providing valuable support to the people.

On National Doctor’s Day (July 1), Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray wished all the doctors in the state. The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude saying that we need your service, your dedication and your skills in the years to come.  In a letter to all the doctors, the Chief Minister said that for the last one and a half years, we have all been standing on the slopes of the second wave of the corona. Although the incidence of infections seems to be declining to some extent today, the responsibility of the medical sector has also increased in dealing with the potential third wave. I believe that we have fought the battle of Covid to date because of you doctors and warriors in the medical field, and we will continue to face this challenge with our strong support. 

The epidemic of covid is not a daily occurrence. Such incidents, such epidemics occur once in many years and all of you have to deal with it. Border warfare is different. There, the enemy is in front of us, but the war against diseases like Covid is a different matter. Here the enemy is not even visible to the naked eye and the battle is still going on. Patient surveys, laboratory tests, treatment of patients, we are all risking our lives because it is not possible to say when this invisible enemy will attack anyone.

The valuable contribution we have all made as doctors in this first and second wave of Covid as the leading warriors in this anti-Covid war is beyond words. I have interacted with you on various occasions in the meantime, even listening to your suggestions. Doctors, whether they work in government hospitals or in private hospitals, have done their best to save the lives of every patient who has risked their lives. Maharashtra could not and will not fight this battle without you. 

Many doctors have also lost their lives, their families, in this battle against covid. Just the second day after the death of a loved one in Covid, I saw a doctor on his battlefield again, in his hospital. I have seen doctors who have turned their backs on home for months and carried out net patient care. It cannot be expressed in words. Maharashtra will always be grateful to you for the valuable support you have given to the common people of the state during these difficult times. 

It is my expectation that the magic of Sanjivan Sparsha should be found in your hands every day and that many lives should be healed from your hands, and that is why I would like to make a request to you on behalf of the whole of Maharashtra while thanking you today. We need your service, your dedication, your skills as we know this war against Kovid is not over yet and therefore in the time to come. You work in a small village, in a well-equipped hospital, you are all important to me. Whether you are advising a patient in a domestic isolation ward or a critical patient on a ventilator in the ICU, putting your medical skills to the test, your every action is important to save this state and every citizen of this state from the clutches of Covid.

I would like to point out here that even when covid treatment is being started, the doctors in the state are treating non-covid treatments like obstetrics, medical emergencies, pediatric ailments with equal sincerity. This, too, is certainly admirable. 

Temples and places of worship were closed during the Covid period but I have the feeling that angels were with us in the form of doctors. I think it is important for everyone to have full respect for these doctors and to ensure that no violence is committed against them.

In memory of Dr B C Roy, we celebrate this Doctor’s Day on the 1st of July. When Dr Roy was the Chief Minister of Bengal, he set aside some time every day to treat the poor and needy patients. His devotion to medical care is still exemplary today. Today, on the occasion of Doctor’s Day, I appeal to you that you too should provide your services for covid and non-covid patients wherever possible.

डॉक्टर्समुळे कोविडविरुद्धच्या लढ्याचा गोवर्धन पेलणे झाले शक्य

राष्ट्रीय डॉक्टर दिनानिमित्त मुख्यमंत्र्यांनी दिल्या राज्यातील डॉक्टर्सना शुभेच्छा; जनतेला मोलाचा आधार दिल्याबद्धल महाराष्ट्र सदैव कृतज्ञ.

राष्ट्रीय डॉक्टर दिनाच्या (1 जुलै) मुख्यमंत्री उद्धव ठाकरे यांनी राज्यातील सर्व डॉक्टर्सना शुभेच्छा दिल्या आहेत. येणाऱ्या काळातही तुमची सेवा, तुमचे समर्पण, तुमचे कौशल्य आम्हाला हवे आहे असे सांगून डॉक्टर्समुळेच  कोविडविरुद्धच्या लढ्याचा गोवर्धन पेलणे शक्य झाले अशा शब्दांत मुख्यमंत्र्यांनी कृतज्ञता व्यक्त केली. 

सर्व डॉक्टर्सना उद्देशून दिलेल्या पत्रात मुख्यमंत्री म्हणतात की, मागील वर्ष दीड वर्षांपासून आपण सगळे कोरोनाच्या दुसऱ्या लाटेच्या उतारावर उभे आहोत. आज काही प्रमाणात संसर्गाचे प्रमाण कमी झालेले दिसत असले तरी संभाव्य तिसऱ्या लाटेला सामोरे जाताना वैद्यकीय क्षेत्राची जबाबदारीही अधिक वाढली आहे. आजपर्यंत कोविडचा लढा आपण लढलो ते तुम्हा डॉक्टर्स आणि वैद्यकीय क्षेत्रातल्या योद्ध्यांमुळे, आणि पुढेदेखील हे आव्हान आपण पेलणार आहोत ते आपल्याच भक्कम साथीने असा विश्वास मला आहे.  

कोविडची महामारी ही रोज घडणारी गोष्ट नसते. अशा घटना, अशी महामारी कित्येक वर्षातून एकदा येते आणि तिच्याशी झुंजताना तुमचा माझा सगळ्यांचा कस लागतो. सीमेवरील युद्ध वेगळं असतं. तिथं शत्रू आपल्यासमोर असतो पण कोविडसारख्या रोगराईविरुध्दचे युद्ध ही वेगळी गोष्ट आहे. इथे शत्रू डोळ्यांनी दिसतदेखील नाही आणि तरीही लढाई सुरू आहे. रुग्णांचे सर्वेक्षण, प्रयोगशाळेतील चाचण्या रुग्णांवरील उपचार या साऱ्या बाबी जीवावर बाजी लावून आपण सारे करीत आहोत कारण हा अदृश्य शत्रू कधी कोणावर झडप घालेल हे सांगता येत नाही.

कोविडच्या या पहिल्या आणि दुसऱ्या लाटेत डॉक्टर म्हणून या कोविड विरोधी युद्धातील आघाडीचे योद्धे म्हणून आपण सर्वांनी जे मोलाचे योगदान दिले आहे, ते शब्दातीत आहे. मी मधल्या काळात आपणाशी वेगवेगळ्या निमित्ताने संवाद साधला आहे, आपल्या सूचनादेखील ऐकून घेतल्या आहेत. डॉक्टर, मग ते सरकारी हॉस्पिटलमध्ये काम करणारे असोत की खासगी हॉस्पिटलमध्ये काम करणारे असोत, प्रत्येकाने जीवाची बाजी लावून आलेल्या प्रत्येक रुग्णाला जीवदान देण्यासाठी आपले सर्वस्व पणाला लावले आहे. महाराष्ट्र ही लढाई तुमच्याशिवाय लढू शकत नव्हता आणि लढू शकणार नाही. 

कोविडविरुद्धच्या या लढाईमध्ये अनेक डॉक्टरांनी आपले प्रण देखील गमावले आहेत, आपले कुटुंबीय गमावले आहेत. घरातील जिवलग व्यक्ती कोविडमध्ये मृत्युमुखी पडल्यानंतर अवघ्या दुसऱ्याच दिवशी पुन्हा आपल्या रणांगणात, आपल्या हॉस्पिटलमध्ये रुग्णसेवेसाठी रुजू झालेले डॉक्टर मी पाहिले आहेत. महिना महिना घराकडे पाठ फिरवून निव्वळ रुग्णसेवेला वाहून घेतलेले डॉक्टर्स मी पाहिले आहेत. हे सगळे शब्दांत मांडता येणार नाही. या कठीण काळात राज्यातील सर्वसामान्य जनतेला तुम्ही जो मोलाचा आधार दिला आहे, त्याबद्दल महाराष्ट्र आपला सदैव कृतज्ञ राहील.

तुमच्या हाताला संजीवन स्पर्शाची जादू रोज गवसावी आणि तुमच्या हातून असंख्य जीव बरे व्हावेत, हीच माझी अपेक्षा आहे, आणि म्हणूनच आज तुमचे आभार मानताना तुम्हाला एक विनंती मी संपूर्ण महाराष्ट्राच्या वतीने करणार आहे. कोविडविरुद्धचे हे युद्ध अजून संपलेले नाही, हे आपण जाणताच आणि म्हणून येणाऱ्या काळातही तुमची सेवा, तुमचे समर्पण, तुमचे कौशल्य आम्हाला हवे आहे. तुम्ही छोट्याशा खेडेगावात काम करत असा की मोठ्या सुसज्ज हॉस्पिटल मध्ये तुम्ही सगळेच माझ्यासाठी महत्त्वाचे आहात. तुम्ही घरगुती विलगीकरणातील रुग्णाला सल्ला देत असाल की आयसीयूमध्ये व्हेंटिलेटरवर असलेल्या गंभीर रुग्णाला वैद्यकीय कौशल्य पणाला लावून वाचवत असाल, तुमची प्रत्येक कृती या राज्याला आणि या राज्याच्या प्रत्येक नागरिकाला कोविडच्या विळख्यातून वाचविण्यासाठी महत्त्वाची आहे.

मला येथे मुद्दाम नमुद करावे वाटते की कोविड उपचार सुरु असतानाही राज्यातील डॉक्टरांनी तितक्याच आत्मीयतेने नॉन कोविड उपचार जसे बाळंतपणे, मेडीकल इमर्जंसी, बालकाचे आजार यावरही उपचार दिले आहेत. ही बाबसुध्दा निश्चितच कौतुकास्पद आहे.

कोविड काळात देवळे आणि धार्मिक स्थळे बंद होती मात्र डॉक्टर्सच्या रूपाने देवदूत आपल्यात होते अशी माझी भावना आहे. या डॉक्टर्सचा पूर्ण सन्मान करणे आणि त्यांच्याप्रति आदर बाळगणे, त्यांच्या बाबतीत कुठलीही हिंसात्मक कृती होऊ नये याची सर्वांनी काळजी घेणे आवश्यक आहे असे मला वाटते.

ज्या डॉ. बी. सी. रॉय यांच्या स्मरणार्थ आपण राष्ट्रीय १ जुलैला हा डॉक्टर दिवस साजरा करतो ते डॉ. रॉय बंगालचे मुख्यमंत्री असताना रोज काही वेळ गरीब, गरजू रुग्णांवर उपचार करण्यासाठी राखीव ठेवत. त्यांची वैद्यकीय सेवेप्रति ही प्रखर निष्ठा आजही अनुकरणीय आहे. आज डॉक्टर दिनाच्या निमित्ताने मी आपल्याला आवाहन करतो की, आपणही आपल्या सेवा शक्य तिथे कोविड आणि नॉन-कोविड रुग्णांसाठी प्रदान कराव्यात. त्यामुळे आपल्या सक्षम कोविड विरोधी लढाईचा हा गोवर्धन पेलणे राज्याला शक्य होणार आहे.
