Emphasize excellence to take the country forward – Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari.
Pune: In order to take the country forward and make it self-reliant, everyone should focus on doing good work in their field, appealed Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari.
He was speaking at the inaugural function of the Ancient Indian Culture Lecture Series jointly organized by Krantiveer Chapekar Memorial Committee, Savitribai Phule Pune University and Center for Citizen Science and the workshop titled ‘Indian Heritage: Introduction and Conservation’.
MP Dr Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Mayor Usha Dhore, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Rajesh Patil, Vice-Chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University Dr Nitin Karmalkar, Chairman of Chapekar Memorial Committee Padma Shri Girish Prabhune, Former Vice-Chancellor of Deccan College Dr Vasant Shinde etc. were present.
Governor Shri Koshyari said that the name of those who sacrificed their lives for the country is immortal even after death. Everyone should strive for the upliftment of the country keeping in view the ideals of such great personalities. The country can make more progress if everyone emphasizes excellence.
The efforts made for the upliftment of the tribal community through the Resurrection of Samarasata Gurukulam are commendable. Traditional art is developing through Gurukulam. He said that this would not only bring the citizens of the neglected and backward communities into the mainstream of society but also help them in their economic development.
On this occasion, at the hands of the Governor, on the occasion of the golden jubilee year of the Krantiveer Chapekar Memorial Committee, the emblem, and the preservation of the heritage site Website were unveiled.
