We need continuity in health research: Aditya Thackeray.
Pune: We have realized the need for continuous new research in the field of health during the Corona period and special efforts need to be made for this, stated Environment Minister Aditya Thackeray.
Minister Mr Thackeray inaugurated the 3T MRI and CT Scan Machine in the Radiology Department of Bharti University Medical College and Hospital. Minister of State for Co-operation and Vice-Chancellor of Bharati University Dr Vishwajit Kadam, MP Praful Patel, Vice President of Western India Football Association former MLA Shrimant Chhatrapati Maloji Raje, Vice-Chancellor of Bharati University Shivajirao Kadam, Vice-Chancellor Dr Manikrao Salunkhe, Executive Director of Bharti Hospital Dr Asmita Jagtap etc. were present.
Stating that the late Patangrao Kadam, a former minister, did a great job in the field of education by establishing Bharati University, Mr Thackeray said that the university hospital he had set up with foresight has cured thousands of Kovid victims during this period. He said that the museum set up by the university in memory of Dr Patangrao Kadam should be open to all school children in the state so that the example of his struggle and work can be passed on to the next generation.
Next year, the Under-17 Women’s World Cup will be held in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Pune, he added. He praised the performance of doctors, nurses and other health workers as cowardly warriors.
Minister of State Dr Kadam said Bharati University is a socially committed university. With the aim of providing education to the common man, he started from a small educational institution and transformed it into a reputed university with many disciplines. A lot of research work is done in this university. During the Corona period, over 12,000 patients were treated at Bharati University Hospital. He also said that the university will try to give a new identity to environmental education in the near future by setting up an Institute of Environmental Research (BVIEER).
MP Mr Patel said that education is a great means of shaping the country. Dr Patangrao Kadam taught people to overcome challenges. Only when the country has the largest number of youth in the world with proper education can they become the power of the country. Corona reminds us of the need for research, innovative technology in the field of health. He also said that the work of the university, which has the ability to foresee not only the present but also the future, is commendable.
