Establish a Board of Skills, Vocational Education and Training
The Cabinet meeting held today approved the formation of Maharashtra State Skills, Vocational Education and Training Board by merging the Maharashtra State Skills Development Board and Maharashtra State Vocational Training Council under the Department of Skills Development, Employment and Entrepreneurship.
The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
With the establishment of the Maharashtra State Skills, Vocational Education and Training Board, it will be possible to start skill education courses along with school education as per the provisions of the National Education Policy. Skills subjects based on the National Skill Qualification Framework as well as skills courses/subjects in the form of Taylor Made Certificates prepared by the institutes can also be started by the institutes.
In the age of globalization, Maharashtra State Board of Skills, Vocational Education and Training will make a significant contribution to the creation of skilled manpower considering modern technologies.
