Expansion of the Union Cabinet. One Cabinet and three Ministers of State from Maharashtra.
The Union Cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was reshuffled and expanded today. A total of 43 ministers were sworn in by President Ramnath Kovind. This includes a total of four ministers from Maharashtra, including a cabinet and three ministers of state.
Members of the constituent parties of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) were today sworn in as members of the Union Cabinet in a glittering ceremony held at the Durbar Hall of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. This includes 15 cabinet ministers and 28 ministers of state. On this occasion, Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah along with Union Ministers and dignitaries from various sectors were present.

In the reshuffle and expansion of the Union Cabinet, former Chief Minister and MP from Maharashtra Narayan Rane was today given the post of Cabinet Minister by the President, while MPs Kapil Patil, Dr Bhagwat Karad and Dr Bharti Pawar were sworn in as Minister of State.
Former Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha MP Narayan Rane, Bhiwandi Lok Sabha MP Kapil Patil for the second time in a row, Dindori Lok Sabha constituency MP Dr Bharti Pawar and newly-elected Rajya Sabha MP Dr Bhagwat Karad will be serving as Union Cabinet members for the first time.
