Explosion in Chemicals factory at Palghar injures six workers
At least six workers suffered injuries in an explosion in a chemical factory in the Tarapur chemical zone of the Boisar MIDC in Maharashtra’s Palghar district last night. The blast occurred in the air handling unit of the Bharat Chemicals at around 11.30 pm. Station officer, Boisar MIDC fire brigade, Dinesh Ambore said that 36 workers were in the factory when the explosion took place.
Due to the explosion, the ceiling of the unit collapsed and injured six workers. Five of them sustained head injuries and are being treated in Sanjeevani hospital in Boisar. One worker was discharged after being administered first aid.
The cause of the explosion has not been ascertained, said the fire officer.

काल रात्री महाराष्ट्रातील पालघर जिल्ह्यातील बोईसर एमआयडीसीच्या तारापूर केमिकल झोनमधील केमिकल कारखान्यात झालेल्या स्फोटात सहा कामगार जखमी झाले. रात्री साडेअकरा वाजता भारत केमिकल्सच्या एअर हैंडलिंग युनिटमध्ये स्फोट झाला. बॉईसर एमआयडीसी अग्निशमन दलाचे स्टेशन अधिकारी दिनेश अंबोर यांनी सांगितले की, स्फोट झाला तेव्हा 36 कामगार फॅक्टरीत होते.
स्फोटामुळे युनिटचे छत कोसळून सहा कामगार जखमी झाले. त्यातील पाच जणांना डोक्याला दुखापत झाली असून त्यांच्यावर बोईसरच्या संजीवनी रुग्णालयात उपचार सुरू आहेत. प्रथमोपचार करून एका कामगारांना सोडण्यात आले. स्फोटाचे कारण समजू शकलेले नाही, असे अग्निशमन अधिकारी यांनी सांगितले.
ही कंपनी पॅरासिटामोल व इतर रसायनांचा उत्पादक आहे. दरम्यान, बोईसर एमआयडीसी पोलिसांनी अपघाती गुन्हा दाखल केला आहे. संचालनालय औद्योगिक सुरक्षा व आरोग्य अधिकारी फॅक्टरीला भेट देऊन अहवाल सादर करतील.
