Extension till 5th December for Voter Registration – State Election Commissioner.
MUMBAI: With the extension of the special brief review program being implemented by the Election Commission of India (ECI), in view
of the forthcoming local body elections, eligible citizens have been given an opportunity to register their names in the electoral rolls till December 5, 2021, said State Election Commissioner UPS. Madan gave here today.
Mr Madan said that the Election Commission of India has carried out a special brief revision of voter lists of Assembly constituencies from 1st to 30th November 2021. On that basis, the final voter lists of Assembly constituencies will be published on January 5, 2022. The same voter lists will be used for the upcoming local body elections. Awareness has also been spread through various means; However, in view of a large number of upcoming elections, the State Election Commission, through the Chief Electoral Officer of Maharashtra, had approached the Election Commission of India (ECI) seeking extension of the brief review program. Accordingly, the program has been extended till December 5, 2021.
With the extension of the brief revision program, in view of the forthcoming local body elections, the eligible citizens who have completed 18 years of age again on January 1, 2022, now have the opportunity to register their names in the Electoral Roll by December 5, 2021. It is also possible to register online at www.nvsp.in, verify the name or correct the details in the names and addresses. For this, you should also confirm your names in the draft voter lists of assembly constituencies published on November 1, 2021. If there is no name, it should be registered immediately; Mr Madan has also appealed that the names of the deceased or duplicate names should also be omitted in the prescribed manner.
