Film status in the state soon – Cultural Affairs Minister Amit Deshmukh.

Pune: The state’s cultural affairs minister Amit Deshmukh has said that the film will be given industry status soon so that films can beCultural Affairs Minister Amit Deshmukh produced in the state in a more planned manner.

He was speaking at the closing ceremony of the 19th Pune International Film Festival organized by the state government’s Mahasanskriti and Pune Film Foundation at the National Film Museum. Director and director of ‘PIF’ Jabbar Patel, Trustee Mohan Agashe, Ulhas Pawar, Prof. Samar Nakhate, Prakash Makdum, Prof. Satish Alekar, President of All India Marathi Film Corporation Meghraj Rajebhosle were present on the occasion.

Mr Deshmukh said that the government is trying to provide a good infrastructure for films. Mumbai Film City is providing more and more facilities for movies, television series and OTT platforms. Apart from this, there is a need to decentralize the infrastructure required for film production in other places. Considering the environment and skilled manpower required for film production in Pune, it is necessary to build infrastructure in such places. The Pune Film Festival will come up with the necessary good ideas.

It has been organized for the last two decades. The festival was well organized despite the Corona crisis. The Government of Maharashtra has always promoted films. Mumbai is the capital of films and Pune has a conducive environment for films. On the occasion of the film festival, people from all over the world get together and exchange ideas. He hoped that the festival would be more comprehensive in the future.

He appealed to all to take necessary precautions against the backdrop of the new coronavirus. He announced that next year Pune International Film Festival will be held from 3 to 10 March 2022.

In his introductory speech, Mr Patel thanked the State Government for its support of the Pune International Film Festival. He said that good organization was possible as the state government agreed to provide Rs. 4 crores for the festival.

On this occasion, various awards from the Film Festival were presented by Mr Deshmukh. The award for the best international Marathi film ‘Sant Tukaram’ given by the Government of Maharashtra was given to the film ‘Porang Majet Aahe’ and the award for the international film ‘Prabhat’ was given to the film ‘Should the Wind Drop’. Other awards were also distributed at this time.

The event began with a tribute to the military officers who died in the helicopter crash, including Defense Chief General Bipin Rawat.
