Food confiscation action for adulteration.
Pune: Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has raided Kolhapur, Pune, Sangli and Solapur districts of Pune division and confiscated food items.
Dhadak campaign of Food and Drug Administration Pune Division. On the backdrop of Diwali, stocks worth Rs 33 lakh 51 thousand 796 were seized in Pune district and food items worth Rs 61 lakh 7 thousand 525 worth Rs 27 lakh 55 thousand 729 were seized in other districts of the division.
On the backdrop of Diwali, the campaign was carried out by the Food and Drug Administration with public health and public interest in mind. A total of 46 samples of khawa, edible oil, paneer and other food items were taken in the Pune district while 41 samples were taken for analysis in other districts.
During the campaign, food samples of various food items were taken for analysis between October 25 and October 31. Various food items were seized on suspicion of adulteration. The Pune office seized stocks of edible oil, khawa, sweet khawa, paneer, jaggery and other food items worth Rs 33 lakh 51 thousand 796.
A total of 21 lakh 79 thousand 729 stocks of food items like khawa, edible oil, porridge, semolina, semolina, pohe, chana dal, chilli powder and white powder, skimmed milk powder were seized in Kolhapur district.
Stocks of edible oil and khawa worth Rs 4 lakh 26 thousand 575 were seized at Sangli. A total stock of tea powder and other food items worth Rs 1 lakh 50 thousand was seized in Solapur district.
