Pune: Mahatma Phule and Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule started the first girl’s school at Bhide Wada. Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Chhagan Bhujbal stated that a girls’ school will be set up here by developing this historic castle.
He was speaking at a function organized on the occasion of Mahatma Phule’s death anniversary. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Madhya Pradesh MLA Siddharth Kushwaha, former MLAs Pankaj Bhujbal, Dipti Chaudhary, Kamal Dhole Patil, Mahajyoti director Divakar Game and others were present on the occasion.
Mr Bhujbal said that the work will be started immediately after completing the land acquisition process for the expansion of National Monument Phulewada and the Savitribai Phule Monument. Savitribai Phule A full-size statue of Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule will be installed at Pune University. The statue will be unveiled on Savitribai’s birthday. All necessary permissions have been obtained in this regard. He appealed to all to work for the preservation of the legacy of Mahatma Phule and Savitribai Phule.
Mr Baghel said that the work of social reform done by Mahatma Phule and Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule is important. He worked for the deprived and backward sections of society. The work they have done to ensure that women are respected in society and farmers are happy is just as important today. He expressed the feeling that it is a matter of pride for us to be honoured in the name of such great men.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Mr Baghel and the Minister of Food and Civil Supplies Mr Bhujbal greeted the statues of Mahatma Phule and Savitribai Phule at Phule Wadi. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel was honoured with the Mahatma Phule Equality Award.
