Goods worth Rs 18 lakh 80 thousand including liquor have been seized from the state excise department. This was done by the Bharari squad of the Mumbai division.
A search of the Adhegaon-Tambole road north of Mohol taluka in Solapur district revealed that the accused had intended to sell illegal foreign liquor in a total of 301 boxes for sale in Goa. A case has been registered against the absconding accused. An offence under Sections 65 (e), 81, 83 and 90 of the 1949 Act has been registered. A total of Rs.18,80,240 / – worth of liquor has been seized from the sale of liquor in Goa.
Under the guidance of State Excise Commissioner Kantilal Umap, Director of Implementation and Vigilance Usha Verma, Divisional Commissioner Sunil Chavan, State Excise Bharari Squad Inspector Santaji Lad, the Mumbai Bharari Squad has done this.
