Governor’s appreciation for the production of Sahakar Maharshi Granth.
Pune: Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra Hon’ble Bhagat Singh Koshyari took special note of Sahakar Maharshi Granth based on the biographies of veterans who contributed to the co-operative movement in Maharashtra.
The Governor had come to Pune on the occasion of an event, at which time the book was presented to him by Bhalchandra Kulkarni, editor of Sahakar Sugandh Magazine.
While Maharashtra is the cradle of the co-operative movement, the biographies of those who have sold their lives for the co-operative movement are inspiring for the next generation in the form of this reference book, said the Governor.
The publication of this book, which contains the biography of Sahakar Maharshi, who marked the beginning of the cooperative movement and made it grow, was recently published by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari at Anandi.
Savitrabai Phule Pune University has also recommended this book and appealed to all colleges for their students and scholars as well as libraries to take this book.
This nine hundred page book contains a total of 153 Sahakar Maharishis from Western Maharashtra (59), Konkan (15), Vidarbha (45), Marathwada (12) and North Maharashtra (15) divisions along with 7 Maharishis who have contributed to the whole of Maharashtra.
