Pune: After graduating from the university, graduates from their region; Providing knowledge in the field of science and technology in the local language for school children would be a great service to the country and would encourage the new generation, said Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari.
He was speaking at the 18th Convocation of Symbiosis International University. Chancellor Dr S.B. Mujumdar, Chief Director and Q-Vice Chancellor Dr Vidya Yerawadekar, Vice-Chancellor Dr Rajani Gupte, Registrar Dr MS Shejul, Controller of Examinations Shraddha Chitale etc. were present.
Mr Koshyari said that along with research in the field of education, creativity is also important. It is also important to be aware of the value in an age where artificial intelligence is important. The university should focus on the development of students’ skills and values along with academic quality.
The new education policy emphasizes these issues. If English is taught along with primary education in the regional language to the students, their development will be better. It would be a great service to the community if the graduates did the work of writing books for it in the regional language.
The University of Symbiosis is a symbol of cosmopolitanism. We need to come together globally to cooperate with each other. Students should also pay attention to the progress of their country, state and village while taking the leap of progress at the global level.
Students should give priority to the welfare of the country while considering the welfare of the world. He said that more success in life can be achieved by adding modesty to academic progress and adopting an interdisciplinary approach.
The message of Union Higher Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was shown on this occasion. He said that students should use their quality for the betterment of the country. Students face many challenges. He said that based on the knowledge gained, they should overcome these challenges and achieve success. He congratulated the graduating students and wished them well.
Dr Mujumdar said that due to the National Education Policy, the education sector has got an Indian face. While incorporating the Indian stream of knowledge into education, it also includes the spirit of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’. Symbiosis University has continued to follow this policy.
Companionship and self-reliance is the soul of the university. He said that the university has also focused on important issues like environmental conservation while conveying the message of global spirit by putting aside all differences.
Mrs Yerawadekar informed about the organization in the introduction. Dr Gupte presented the annual report of the university.
Gold medals and various awards were given to the students who achieved special proficiency at the hands of the Governor, and trees were planted on the campus.
