Helping police even during the suspension, tells Sachin Vaze to the judicial commission.
Dismissed Mumbai cop Sachin Vaze told a judicial commission that he was recording statements of witnesses and tracking suspects and accused in different pockets of the country, during his suspension for 16 years. He was presented before the retired justice K. U Chandiwal from Taloja Central Jail yesterday.
The Chandiwal commission was constituted in March this year to inquire into corruption allegations made by Param Bir Singh against Anil Deshmukh.
Vaze was cross-examined by Deshmukh’s lawyer in his presence. Deshmukh was brought from Arthur Road Jail where he is lodged on charges of money laundering by the Enforcement Directorate. Vaze was reinstated back in the force on June 6, 2021, after being suspended for 16 years for allegedly killing a 27-year-old Khwaja Yunus.
His statement will be recorded today as well.
