Hospitals with 50 beds will be required to have their own oxygen generating system – Medical Education Minister Amit Deshmukh.
We have been fighting Kovid for the last one and a half years. It is still being speculated that the third wave of covid may occur. Against this backdrop, the need for oxygen is increasing in many places in the state. In view of this, Medical Education Minister Amit Deshmukh today said that hospitals with 50 beds have been made mandatory to have their own oxygen generating system.
The Mid-Day Round Table Seminar was held online today. The seminar was attended by Medical Education Minister Amit Deshmukh, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation Additional Commissioner Suresh Kakani, and the editorial team of Mid Day newspaper.
Mr. Deshmukh said that even though the number of Kovid patients is declining, Kovid patients still need oxygen. Therefore, in the coming period, hospitals need to build their own oxygen production plants.
Maharashtra has been coping with the Kovid situation for the last one and a half years. During this period, a number of measures were taken such as setting up a government laboratory for testing covid, setting up a covid hospital in a government medical college, making the necessary equipment, and making oxygen available. The crisis in Maharashtra is not over yet and the necessary measures and precautions are being taken in the state considering the threat of a possible third wave. It is equally important for the people to have the support of the state government in all these endeavors for the restoration of our daily life.
Maharashtra will take the lead in starting schools and colleges.
Schools and colleges were closed for the safety of students in March last year to prevent the further spread of covid in the state. However, now that efforts are being made to bring the situation back to normal, Maharashtra will take the lead in starting schools and colleges. Deshmukh expressed this at the time.
In this seminar, Additional Commissioner Suresh Kakani informed about the measures taken by BMC in the last one and a half years to prevent the spread of Kovid in Mumbai.
