Pune – The Anganwadi workers, helpers and supervisors who take good care of the food, education and health of the children in the rural areas have made a significant contribution in building a strong and empowered society. This award is a tribute to the woman power which is the backbone of rural development, stated Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.

He was speaking at the Adarsh ​​Anganwadi Sevika, Helper and Supervisor District Level Award Ceremony organized by the Women and Child Welfare Department at Zilla Parishad’s Sharad Chandra Pawar Hall. The program was attended by ZP President Nirmala Pansare, Vice President Ranjit Shivtare, Women and Child Welfare Chairperson Pujatai Parge, Construction Chairperson Pramod Kakade, Social Welfare Chairperson Sarika Pansare, Agriculture Chairperson Baburao Vaikar, Additional Chief Executive Officer Bharat Shendge and others.

Mr Pawar said, Anganwadi workers truly serve society. They have contact with households in rural areas. He has been instrumental in bringing the government’s plans to the final stage. The success of government schemes and consequently of government depends on their performance. He said that his work ineffectively disseminating agricultural health and nutrition schemes to the people was commendable.

Anganwadi workers and Asha workers did a good job during the Coronation period. Mr Pawar appealed to the Anganwadi workers to urge the citizens of their area to wear masks when there is a danger of new coronavirus in the world. “It is important to keep up the good work and the award winners have the responsibility to do a better job because of the award. Anganwadi workers have an important role to play in building a strong foundation for a responsible citizen of tomorrow,” he said.

The introductory speech was made by Mrs Parge. He said that Mission Anganwadi Transformation was successfully implemented even during the Corona period. He informed that awards are being given to 21 Anganwadi workers, 21 helpers and 3 supervisors. Shalini Kadu, Project Director, District Rural Development Agency, informed about the ‘Mahanusha’ system designed for CSR use.

Zilla Parishad members, officers, staff and Anganwadi workers were present on the occasion.
