Inauguration of “My Sinhagad, My Pride” program at the hands of Deputy Chief Minister.
Funds for Sinhagad area development will not be reduced – Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
The fort will beautify the ancient heritage of the Sinhagad area and will be developed in a way that is conducive to the environment and funds for development will not be allowed to fall short, stated Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
He was speaking at the launch of the ‘My Sinhagad, My Pride’ program at Sinhagad. Mr Pawar said that the development will be done keeping in view the need for tourists to get information about the history of Sinhagad and also to enjoy tourism. In order to provide information to the tourists visiting the fort, training will be given to the locals who know Marathi and Hindi language as a guide through the forest department.
The number of people coming to Sinhagad from Pune metropolis including the state is high. So there was a rush of vehicles around the fort. An eco-friendly electric bus facility will be started to reach the fort from the base of the fort. The construction of a ropeway is also being considered to enable senior citizens to visit the fort. Unlicensed encroachment on Sinhagad fort will be removed. Stalls will be given priority to locals in the vicinity of the fort, he added.
Launch of Wildlife Week
The Wildlife Week and Guide Training Program implemented by the Forest Department was inaugurated in the presence of Mr Pawar. Various activities have been started by Pune Forest Department under “My Sinhagad My Campaign”. E-vehicles will be launched through selfie points, guide training, plastic ban, forest department and PMPL. Mr Pawar expressed satisfaction over this.
Mr Pawar visited the site of the proposed food stall, Hawa Point, Rest House, Forest Rest House and inspected it. Mr Patil, Deputy Conservator of Forests, gave information about ‘My Sinhagad, My Pride’ program
