Most of the much talked about literature festivals in the country are held in English. There is no doubt that the English language has great literature and is literary. But there is very rich literature in Indian languages including Hindi, Bengali, Marathi. After coming to Maharashtra, I understood how rich the literature here is. Therefore, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari insisted that every effort should be made to bring literature in Indian languages to the world through literature festivals.

He was speaking at the inauguration of the 7th Global Literary Festival on Tuesday in the remote presence of Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari. The three-day literary festival is organized by the Asian Academy of Arts and the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry.

The Hindi language is well understood in Mauritius, Trinidad, Arabia and neighbouring India through films. Knowing the Hindi language made it very easy for you to understand the Marathi language. In Indian languages, Bankimchandra, Munshi Premchand, Subramanya Bharti are one of the best writers. Therefore, Sahitya Mahotsav should not be just an English Sahitya Mahotsav but a comprehensive Indian Sahitya Mahotsav said Koshyari.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Ambassadors and High Commissioners of India from various countries including Uzbekistan, Trinidad, Tobago, Burkina Faso, Conference President Sandeep Marwah, Inderjit Ghosh, Filmmaker Anil Jain, Lions Club’s Gaurav Gupta, Dr Shikha Verma, Sushil Bharti and literary figures.
