Centurion: In the first Cricket Test, India has set a victory target of 305 runs for South Africa at SuperSport Park in Centurion.
South Africa took two wickets in the opening session to take India to 79/3 by lunch. India was all out at 174 in their second innings in the second session on Day Four of the game today.
For the hosts, Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen claimed four wickets each while Lungi Ngidi bagged the remaining two wickets. Earlier, wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant top-scored for India with 34 in the second innings.
India had taken a strong 130-run lead in the first innings by bowling out South Africa for 197 in the first innings on the strength of five wickets bowled by Mohammad Shami. By tea time, South Africa were 22 for one in the second innings.
Chasing a victory target of 305, South Africa were 94 for four at the close of play. Captain Dean Elgar was batting for 52 after late nightwatchman Keshav Maharaj (8) was dismissed by Jaspreet Bumrah. On the final day, South Africa needed 211 runs to win. From India, Bumrah took two wickets while Mohammad Shami and Mohammad Siraj took one wicket each.
