About Pawandeep Rajan
Pawandeep Rajan is an amazing and versatile Indian singer who recently won the singing reality show the Indian Idol 2021 trophy. Indian Idol 12 ran for right around nine months since it started in November last year. The show was decided by Anu Malik, Himesh Reshammiya and Sonu Kakkar and co-facilitated by Udit Narayan’s son Aditya and TV entertainer Jay Bhanushali.
Born on 27 July 1996 in Champawat, Uttarakhand and he did his primary and secondary education in Champawat. He is graduated from Kumaun University Nainital. His father Suresh Ranjan is a singer. He sings in events and functions in Uttarakhand.
Pawandeep loves music since his childhood, so started learning music at a very young age. His father has gifted Tabla when he was 1 and a half years old. He began with playing the Tabla & he won the award for youngest tabla player at the age of 2. He also plays several other musical instruments like the keyboard, piano, drums guitar etc. His performance of the Dholak in the reality show was appreciated by judges and the audience. He is also a popular Koumani folk singer.
Pawandeep and his friends in college started a band ‘RAIT’ in 2014. They used to perform at local lounges and college festivals. During college life, Pawandeep comes across an advertisement in a Newspaper about the audition about singing reality TV show ‘ The Voice of India’ in 2015. He began his singing training two weeks before going for the TV Show ‘The Voice of India’. After entering the competition he started his training under Indian Singer Shaan. He won the competition. He was awarded a cash price of Rs.50/- Lakh and a Maruti Alto K 10 car, he also won the contract with Universal Music Group to release his first song. After winning the competition Pawandeep released his debut with Universal Music Group ‘Yakeen’ in 2015.
He was appointed as the ‘ Youth Brand Ambessador’ by Uttrakhand Government in 2016.
Then Pawandeep joined with Aaron Haron Rashid and sang two songs for the album ‘Chholiyar’ He also sang the song for the romantic movie ‘ Romeo and Bullet’ in 2017. In between, he performed various shows in India and Dubai.
Apart from singing Pawandeep also performed in some movies and web series as an actor. He acted in movies like ‘Panghrun’, ‘Kindnap’ and ‘F U Friendship Unlimited. He also acted in the Hindi web series ‘ 1962 The War in the Hills’ in the role of Nodo Tana. Written and directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and inspired by the 1962 Sino-Indian War.
