MUMBAI: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has greeted Krantisinha Nana Patil, the first freedom fighter to speak in Marathi in Parliament. The Deputy Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to Krantisinha for his contribution to the freedom struggle of the country as well as for his work for the betterment of the country and for the development of the Bahujan Samaj.
Paying homage on the occasion of Krantisinha Nana Patil’s Memorial Day, the Deputy Chief Minister said that Krantisinha Nana Patil was ‘Krantisinha’ in the true sense. From the non-cooperation movement started by Mahatma Gandhi for the independence of the country to the anti-government movement challenging the British rule, his struggle is a history written in gold letters in the Indian independence movement.
He had created alternative systems for Lok Sabha, market system, food supply through ‘Pratisarkar’ in one and a half thousand villages in Satara, Sangli and Kolhapur areas. Gavagund was created to harass socialites. This was great courage against the British government. Along with the freedom struggle, he also contributed to the development of the country.
He worked for the propagation of education, de-addiction, eradication of superstitions, banning of unwholesome customs and traditions. Krantisinha Nana Patil’s place will always be high in the minds of all of us and he will always inspire us due to his contribution to the development of the country including the freedom struggle, said Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
