‘Maharashtra Day’ was celebrated with enthusiasm at the International Trade Fair.

Maharashtra Day program organized today at the Bharat International FairNew Delhi: Prosperous folk art of Maharashtra like Bhupali, Jatya Ovi, Bharud, Gaulan, Lavani, Koli Nritya etc. were vigorously presented in the Maharashtra Day program organized today at the Bharat International Fair which started in the capital. The event, which showcased the diverse culture of the state, won the hearts of the audience.

The ‘Maharashtra Day’ cultural program was inaugurated today at the 40th Indian International Trade Fair at Pragati Maidan by Additional Chief Secretary and Resident Commissioner of Maharashtra Sadan Shamlal Goyal.

Every evening at the India International Trade Fair, the cultural programs of the participating countries and states are presented in an ‘open hall’ trade fair. The ‘Maharashtra Day’ program was celebrated on the 12th day of the trade fair under this initiative.

Powerful presentation of folk art of Maharashtra

Artists of Saptasur Sangeet Academy from Nashik, presented by Pinak Events and Management, performed ‘Maharashtra Lok Kala Darshan’. The program started with Bhupali. Vasudev dances were performed in the rural areas of Maharashtra in the early hours of the morning. A glimpse of the Mangala Gaur festival was seen on the stage. Singing various songs of Mangala Gauri, the artists contracted it. The festival of Narli Pournima and the performance of Koli songs showing the enthusiasm of the Koli brothers were also performed. The famous Bharud of Saint Eknath, ‘Mala Dadla Nako Ga Bai’ was also performed on this occasion. The performances of Lavani, Gaulan, Shetkari Nritya, Khandeshi Nritya, Dhangar Nritya, Jogwa were appreciated by the audience from home and abroad.

The dances, tigers and flutes performed by the tribals of the state got applause from the audience. Decorated with various folk arts and folk dances, the event was a reflection of the rich folk culture of Maharashtra and received a spontaneous response from the audience.
