Make ‘Coronamukta Ward’ a pilot project against the backdrop of a possible third wave – instructions from Dr Neelam Gorhe, Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Council.
Prompt appointment of heirs of officers and employees who died due to corona.
Dr Nilmathai Gorhe, Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Council, directed to set up a ‘Coronamukta Ward’ as a pilot project against the backdrop of a possible third wave like the ‘Coronamukta Gaon’ initiative.
Under the chairmanship of Neelam Gorhe, Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Council, a review of the functioning of the Pune Municipal Corporation was held in the Municipal Corporation Hall. It reviews the innovative work done by the corporation during the Corona epidemic, the schemes provided by the government to help ordinary citizens, workers, farmers, labourers during the Corona epidemic. He also reviewed the Department of Agriculture, Department of Labor, Department of Transport, Department of Rohyo and Tribal Welfare, Department of Women and Child Development, Department of Public Health.
Mayor Murlidhar Mohol, Deputy Mayor Sunita Wadekar, Group Leader Prithviraj Sutar, Party Leader Farjana Sheikh, Commissioner Vikram Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police Dr Ravindra Shiswe, Additional Commissioner Ravindra Binwade, Dnyaneshwar Molak, Deputy Divisional Officer Santosh Kumar Deshmukh, Health Chief Dr Ashish Bharti, Deputy Regional Transport Officer Sanjay Bhor along with corporators and senior officers of the concerned department were present.
Mrs Gorhe, the deputy speaker of the Legislative Council, said, in the background of Corona; On behalf of the government, a fund of about Rs. 30 crores has been distributed in the jurisdiction of Pune Municipal Corporation. Citizens have been helped through this fund. Also, take immediate action to give pending appointments on a compassionate basis to the heirs of 88 officers and employees of the corporation who died due to corona. In the third week of September, a special drive should be carried out with the help of all concerned departments to register construction workers, domestic workers as well as workers working in different jobs. The Department of Women and Child Development provides counselling to 407 widows who have lost their husbands due to corona. Rehabilitate widows with the help of corporations like Mahatma Phule Economic Development Corporation, Annabhau Sathe Economic Development Corporation, Women’s Development Economic Development Corporation. Report the action taken by 15th October. Given the possibility of a third wave of coronavirus, carry out the vaccination campaign effectively.
Follow up the issues pending with the state government and try to give its benefits to the common man, said Nilmathai Gorhe, Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Council.
Commissioner Vikram Kumar provided information on corona condition, bed condition, patient recovery rate, oxygen, mortality rate, vaccination, mucorrhoea, drug stockpile, mission zero campaign, corona preventive measures, possible third wave preparation etc. under Pune Municipal Corporation. Officers of various departments were present on this occasion.
