Mumbai: The MARD Association of Resident Doctors has expressed satisfaction over the positive discussions with Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on their demands. The office bearers of this organization met Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray at Varsha residence today regarding their demands. After a positive discussion, the Chief Minister directed to find a suitable solution to the issues raised by Mard.

Praising the resident doctors for their incomparable performance during the Corona period, the Chief Minister said that the contribution of these doctors will never be forgotten. Their demands will be settled.

Mard had called for a strike in connection with the waiver of tuition fees for medical postgraduate courses and the abolition of GST deduction from the stipend of resident doctors in municipal colleges.

Regarding the waiver of tuition fees as well as GST, the Chief Minister asked the Finance Department as well as the Palikas to study the technicalities and take immediate steps to find a suitable solution. He also directed the government as well as the resident doctors of the municipality to take proper note of the achievements made during the Corona period and determine how they can be promoted.

Mard’s office-bearers expressed satisfaction and expressed confidence that the state government would take appropriate steps.
