Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray today directed that a State War Memorial and Army Museum be set up in Mumbai to commemorate the glorious and glorious achievements of the Indian Army and to showcase the experience of the times of bravery, prowess, patience and restraint. He also hoped that the work of the museum would be completed expeditiously on the occasion of the nectar anniversary of Indian independence and some parts of it would be open to the public by August 15.

Establishment of Advisory and Designer Committee

The Chief Minister said that an advisory and designer committee should be set up with the participation of military officers to decide what the museum should look like and what should be included in it. Arrangements should also be made that can be taken. Citizens who visit the museum should get information and experience about how bunkers are, how their soldiers live in minus degrees Celsius in places like Siachen, how their soldiers walk through the desert with heavy weapons, how they roam in the forest.

Experience the strength of the Indian Army

The museum showcases the military prowess and glory of the country, the success stories of all the three armies, information on various wars, weapons and ammunition used in the three armies of Maharashtra soldiers, officers, soldiers who have been martyred in various wars. , Tanks, boats, planes, medals, military uniforms, the rank structure of officers in the army should be displayed. Replicas of other items used in warfare, including the construction of aircraft, boats, helicopters, tanks, etc. should be here. As it is a state museum, it should have all the historical information about Indian independence. Amphitheatre, civic amenities, Paramvir Chakra, Ashoka Chakra winners, their prowess, their medals are all available here.

An activity area has also been set up here. Java youth should get information and guidance on what to do for physical fitness, at least for safety. In order to motivate the youth to join the Indian Army, preparations should be made for it, and some practical courses should be started to provide practical knowledge.

The Chief Minister also said that there should be a system in place to provide a rich experience to the citizens while getting an overview of the overall strength of the Indian Army.
