Mumbai: Maharashtra offers a wide range of tourism opportunities such as beaches, forests, adventure tourism, forts, cool air places. Water tourism has also recently added to this. Jayashree Bhoj, Managing Director, Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), said that the state is ready with quality facilities to enable tourists to take advantage of such diverse tourism opportunities in the state.

Tours that were closed for several days due to the outbreak of Covid 19 have now resumed. An information and reservation centre has been set up at the Trimurti premises of the Ministry to inform the officials, staff and visitors of the Ministry about the services and facilities provided to the tourists through MTDC. Mrs Bhoj visited and inspected the centre.

Maharashtra Unlimited is the motto of Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation due to its diverse tourism opportunities. The first scuba diving institute in the country started at Tarkarli in Sindhudurg district has become a special attraction for tourists.

There are various tourist attractions in the state such as historical tourism of forts along with beaches, cool air places, the experience of wildlife through forests like Tadoba, historical caves.

The Corporation is providing various facilities including quality accommodation at various tourist destinations. Jayashree Bhoj has appealed to the tourists to come and enjoy such diverse tourist destinations.

MTDC offers various schemes for government employees as well as discounts on various room reservations. These include Senior Citizen Concessions, Educational Travel Concessions, Ex-Servicemen Concessions, Disabled Tourist Concessions, Non-Resident Indian (NRI) Concessions, Government and Semi-Government Employees Concessions Information is being provided in this centre.

Besides, information is being given about Nashik Boat Club, Ganpatipule Boat Club and the Indian Institute of Scuba Diving and Aquatic Sports (IISDA) at Tarkarli, which are run by the Water and Tourism Department of the Corporation.

Dinesh Kamble, General Manager, Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation, has appealed to all government, semi-government officials, employees and citizens visiting the ministry to visit the reservation centre set up in the premises of the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation and take advantage of government schemes.
