India is in a strong position against New Zealand on day three of the second and final test in Mumbai. Chasing a victory target of 540 runs set by India, New Zealand were 140 for five in their second innings when stumps were drawn for the day. India declared their second innings at 276 for seven.
The hosts started Day 3 on a strong note with Mayank Agarwal 62 and Cheteshwar Pujara 47 adding 107 runs for the first wicket and then skipper Virat Kohli added 83 runs for the third wicket with Shubman Gill. Kohli was out for 36 while Axer Patel remained not out for 41.
Earlier, New Zealand was bowled out for 62 runs in their first innings in reply to India’s 325.
