Opportunity to become a travel guide from the Directorate of Tourism, appeal to apply online by 31st December.
Pune: The Maharashtra Tourism Directorate will conduct a Travel Guide training program at 14 famous tourist destinations in the state with the dual objective of promoting tourism growth and providing employment to local youth. Junnar taluka of the district is one of the 14 tourist destinations. Young men and women who want to participate in this training are urged to apply online by 31st December.
The Maharashtra Directorate of Tourism (DOT) has come up with a great opportunity to transform the love of collecting information about your village forts, mountains, valleys, temples, a historical museum or any place with social, cultural, natural gifts into a career. With the dual objective of providing employment to the local youth through the provision of tour guides for the tourists in the local famous tourist destinations, the Travel Guide Training Program will be implemented in 14 famous tourist destinations in the state. This will include Junnar (Pune) location.
Expert trainees from the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management, Gwalior as well as Maharashtra Tourism Directorate will guide the trainees under the Easy Guide Training Program. It will provide detailed training on how to perfect the tourist experience by following local tourism information, rules and safety measures as well as how to present the information you have while interacting with the tourists. For this, these experts will provide practical guidance at local tourist destinations. Upon completion of the five day training period, the trainees will be given a certificate from Maharashtra Tourism Directorate and an identity card for further work as a tour guide.
Candidates must be 18 years of age or above to participate in this training. Education must be at least 12th pass if under 40 years of age and at least 10th pass if above 40 years of age.
