Organizing special campaigns for unlicensed food traders.

Commissioner Shivaji Desai informed that a special campaign will be launched by the Food and Drug Administration Office from 1st to 7th October 2021 to search for unlicensed food traders and motivate them to get licenses.

Under this campaign, food traders are required to apply through the online system www.foscos.fssai.gov.in to get a food license and registration certificate. Annual fee of Rs. 100 for food traders with annual turnover less than Rs. 12 lakhs; Annual turnover over Rs. 12 lakhs; Registration certificates can be obtained by paying an annual food license fee of Rs 2,000, small producers Rs 3,000 and large producers Rs 5,000 for retailers and hotels.

Citizens should purchase food from a licensed establishment. The campaign will benefit every citizen to have access to safe food as well as to help prevent adulteration. This should make the citizens more aware. For more information, please contact the office on 020-25882882
