Participate more in Flag Day fundraising to help soldiers

Pune: Resident Deputy Collector Himmatrao Kharade has appealed to all of us to take care of the welfare of the families of the heroic soldiers who are fighting day and night for the defence of the country.
He was speaking at the flag day 2021 fundraising launch event held at the Collectorate. District Soldier Welfare Officer Major Subhash Sasane, Assistant Soldier Welfare Officer Baban Khandale along with ex-servicemen and their families were present on the occasion.
Mr Kharade said the soldiers were responsible for the overall defence of the country. Today we are safe because of the soldiers and it is the responsibility of all of us to take care of the families of the soldiers.
Fundraising is an important task for soldiers and their families. Funds raised for Armed Forces Flag Day are used for the education of soldiers, ex-servicemen, widows of soldiers and children. He also appealed to more and more citizens to take initiative in raising funds for Flag Day and for all sections of the society to help in raising funds for the flag day.
In the introductory speech, District Soldier Welfare Officer Subhash Sasne said that the problems of the families of the martyred soldiers are removed through the District Soldiers Welfare Office.
These funds are used to implement welfare schemes. Due to the spontaneous response of the citizens even in the catastrophic situation caused by the corona infection; He said that the target of Rs 1 crore 50 lakh has been achieved.
The dignitaries present at the event were given batches of Armed Forces Day and funds were raised at the launch of Flag Day Fundraising.
Children honoured with special honour award
Special honours were given to the ex-servicemen as well as the children who have passed the 10th and 12th examinations. Rajesh Ambokar, Ramesh Sangle, Balaji Shriram Gaikwad, Shantaram Hole, Dharmaraj Daundkar, Pramod Karve, Sanjay Wagh, Kiran Vaidya, Santosh Dangle were honored with special awards.
Ex-servicemen including Veeramata, Veerapatni were present at this occasion.
