Maharashtra’s tourism development will get a boost
In this regard, Principal Secretary, Tourism, Valsa Nair-Singh said, “With every new initiative in tourism, we are getting closer to the people.” We have held photography competitions before. But this time the theme is a bit different. In this, without taking any specific theme, giving space to creativity, I want to capture Maharashtra in your mind. This has created opportunities for budding photographers who have captured a different Maharashtra from their own point of view. Mumbai is known for its fast-paced and nocturnal life. In addition to this, we are also giving importance to the aspect of heritage by starting activities like Heritage Walk on behalf of the Maharashtra Tourism Department. There are many heritage sites in Mumbai, these places will be visited through Heritage Walk. He expressed confidence that such initiatives would give a boost to the tourism development of Maharashtra.

Dr Dhananjay Savalkar, Director, Tourism, said that although photography is not as difficult as it used to be, it can be achieved with the right guidance. The various photography activities taking place on the occasion of World Photography Day are to encourage novice photographers. The various activities organized on this occasion will not only provide knowledge but also provide perspectives on various aspects like angles, lighting etc. to be taken into consideration while taking photos. He also expressed the belief that the tourist destinations in Maharashtra will come to the forefront of the world.
