Work to create a technology capable generation – Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant.
Pune: The alchemy of technology is being extended to the rural areas through the Department of Higher and Technical Education. Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant appealed to the educational institutions to work towards creating a capable generation through technology through the Department of Higher and Technical Education with a focus on students.
He was speaking at a workshop for the co-directors of government engineering diploma institutes held in the auditorium of Government Engineering College. Director of Higher and Technical Education Department Abhay Wagh, Deputy Secretary Satish Tidke, Director of Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE) Dr Vinod Mohitkar, Joint Director Pramod Naik, Dattatray Jadhav were present on this occasion.
Mr Samant said that emphasis is being laid on creating a generation that will lead Maharashtra towards progress through technical education. A plan should be prepared for the students to get all the facilities in the government college. Efforts should be made to keep the college premises clean and well equipped. There should be a campus that will attract students and parents. At the same time, new knowledge and new ideas should be imparted to the students, he said.
During the Corona period, Oxygen Audit has done a very good job of planning the principals of the Department of Higher and Technical Education. Noting that this has facilitated oxygen planning during the Corona period, Minister Samant said the college campus should be well equipped. The safety of students is the top priority of the government. The role of principals will be important to improve the educational environment by taking students and parents along. He also hoped that the workshop would focus on future educational progress as well as important issues in the field of education.
Minister Samant also said that the Department of Higher and Technical Education has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Infosys to ensure that college students get skills-based education along with regular education and that new skills-based technical education is used by students for employment.
Abhay Wagh, Director, Department of Higher and Technical Education, introduced the activities of the Department of Higher and Technical Education. He said that employment-based courses would be started by the Department of Higher and Technical Education.
Principals, Joint Directors of Engineering Diploma Institutions in the state as well as MSBTE officials were present on the occasion.
