Pune Municipal Corporation’s team of cleaners leaves for Kolhapur!
The state of Maharashtra has been hit by floods due to heavy rains and floods in Kolhapur district have affected 411 villages. Especially in the villages of Shirol, Karveer and Hatkanangle talukas, due to infiltration of water, unhygienic conditions have been created. At present, the floods are receding and there is insufficient manpower available in the district for large scale cleaning and disinfection work. For this, the Water and Sanitation Department, Zilla Parishad, Kolhapur had demanded 50 sanitation workers from Pune Municipal Corporation.
In the current dire situation in Kolhapur, 15 field offices of Pune Municipal Corporation have been sent to Kolhapur with solid waste management cleaners and some supervisory staff from the main department. Therefore, 61 supervisory staff and cleaners from the Solid Waste Management Department of Pune Municipal Corporation were sent to Kolhapur as helpers for public cleaning work.
Employees and servants of Pune Municipal Corporation From 30/7/2021 to 7/8/2021 to go to Kolhapur, to do the necessary cleaning work and to return after completion of work 2 big buses with driver and mechanic by Pune Metropolitan Transport Corporation and 1 utility van arranged by motor vehicle department. Is. All these servants have been provided with the necessary equipment and safety equipment for their work.
Mayor Muralidhar Mohol and Hon’ble Standing Committee Chairman Hemant Rasne gave the flag off to the team at Pune Municipal Corporation Main Building today. On this occasion Hon. Additional Municipal Commissioner (E) Dr Kunal Khemnar, Deputy Commissioner, Solid Waste Management, Ajit Deshmukh, Health Officer, Deputy Health Inspector, and other officers and staff were present in large numbers.
