Union Minister of State for Social Justice Ramdas Athavale reviewed the facilities at Chaityabhoomi on the occasion of Mahaparinirvana of
Bharat Ratna Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.
Mumbai: On the occasion of the 65th Mahaparinirvana of Bharat Ratna Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, Union Minister of State for Social Justice Ramdas Athavale reviewed the various facilities provided to the followers coming for greetings at Chaityabhoomi, Dadar.
MP Rahul Shewale, former Minister of State Avinash Mahatekar, Joint Secretary of Social Justice Department Dinesh Dingle, Special Inspector General of Police Dr Suhas Warke, Additional Commissioner of Police Dnyaneshwar Chavan, Mumbai City Collector Rajiv Nivatkar, Municipal Corporation Assistant Commissioner Kiran Dighavkar, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar addressed the meeting held at Sahyadri Guest House. Mahaparinirvana Day Coordinating Committee General Secretary Nagsen Kamble, Bhadant Dr Rahul Bodhi Mahathero, Siddharth Kasare etc. were present on the occasion.
On this occasion, Union Minister of State for Social Justice Ramdas Athavale instructed to plan so that the crowd would be less because of the possible danger of Covid. Covid has provided an online greeting facility to the followers on Mahaparinirvana Day for the last two years. Mr Athavale also instructed the administration to plan for the provision of water, food and other facilities including medical facilities to the followers who come to greet the Chaityabhoomi.
On the occasion of Mahaparinirvana, MP Rahul Shewale appealed to various administrative departments and the corporation to plan for the provision of all the necessary facilities. He also appreciated the work done by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Mahaparinirvana Day Coordinating Committee for the followers during the time of Covid.
Mr Dighavkar, Assistant Commissioner informed about the facilities provided by BMC. Dr Warke and Dnyaneshwar Chavan briefed the audience about police security and security measures.
On the occasion of Mahaparinirvana Day, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Mahaparinirvana Day Coordinating Committee General Secretary Nagsen Kamble demanded to provide various services and facilities on behalf of the government. The meeting was attended by senior officials from Public Health, Police, State Excise, Transport, Central Railway, Western Railway and other departments.
Union Minister of State for Social Justice Ramdas Athavale also reviewed the work of Bharat Ratna Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s International Monument at Indu Mill. Senior officials of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority and technical advisors of the memorial project were present on the occasion.
